Studies Weekly
Studies Weekly is a customized, standards-based curriculum founded on deep learning strategies that increase student knowledge, skills, and dispositions for well-being.
Hands-on
Our students love the hands-on curriculum where they can highlight, take notes and complete learning strategies right on the publication. They also can cut up and incorporate their publications into multiple assignments and activities.
Interactive
Every student has access to Study Weekly's robust online platform, where they delve deeper into history through 100K+ primary source images and videos. Students also love the audio reader, highlighting tools, and rewards system.
Ready to Use
Our teachers spend less time prepping for instruction, and more time engaging students with ready-to-use lesson plans that incorporate essential learning strategies, activities, and worksheets.
Cross-Curricular
Using Studies Weekly's balanced literacy approach during Language Arts time allows teachers to hit many of the ELA standard through non-fiction reaching, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and technology use.
Better Preparation
As they question, discuss, and truly experience history through year-long immersive learning, our students do better on formative and summative assessments.
Elementary Curriculum Alignment
Our PAISD scholars are encouraged to retrospectively think like Historians and to use past present events to make sense of present and future events. Social Studies instruction is a vital component to the structure of our scholars’ daily learning framework because it involves journaling and notetaking, deductive and inductive reasoning, rich vocabulary acquisition, sharpening literacy skills, and all major concepts of mathematical thinking and applications. Social Studies instruction in PAISD heavily recognizes and participates in celebrating holiday’s and current events (September 11, The 2020 Election, etc.).
