Meal Programs
Here at Port Arthur Independent School District (PAISD), we offer several healthy meal programs!
Healthy Breakfast Meals
Breakfast is served in the traditional cafeteria line and allows students to eat a well balanced meal consisting of fresh fruits, milk, 100% fruit juice and a variety of low-fat foods. Breakfast is free to all individuals. Download the documents below for more information on the benefits of breakfast or the National School Breakfast Program.

Healthy Lunch Meals
All school lunches meet or exceed state and federal nutritional guidelines. Elementary school lunches consist of an entrée and a variety of two side dishes offered daily.
Secondary school lunches consist of two entrée options and a variety of two side dishes offered daily. High School lunch offers a variety of themed lines and an extensive a la carte menu.
Middle and high schools exercise Offer vs. Serve, a provision of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP), through which students are routinely offered five meal components (four for breakfast) and must select at least three to consume.

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program
PAISD aligns with the aims of the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program (FFVP) in hopes of widening access to healthful and nutritive meal components in the form of fresh produce; fostering lasting beneficial eating habits in youths; and providing a delicious alternative to otherwise unhealthy snacks. To that end, PAISD sources quality fruits and vegetables.
After School Care Program
PAISD Child Nutrition and Food Service proudly offers the After School Care Program (ASCP) which benefits children enrolled in participating schools by offering a nutritious snack to students as they partake in physically and educationally enriching activities after school.
Summer Meals Program
Feeding Port Arthur’s youth continues during the summer months through our Summer Meals Program (SMP.) All children aged 1 to 18 can receive hot, nutritionally balanced meals for breakfasts and lunch at participating PAISD summer school sites during the summer months.
