Laptop/Tablet Return

Please charge the devices before returning them. If the device currently has any issues or damages, please do not wait until collection time to notify the district’s Help Desk at (409) 989-6177 or visit the PAISD Lost or Damaged Tablet/Chromebook website. When devices are returned at the end of the school year, replacement fees may be charged for damages beyond “normal wear.” Noted damages of misuse, accidental or intentional drops and spills, cracked screens, missing keys, missing charging cord, or damage that impedes the use of the Chromebook/tablet are considered damages beyond “normal wear” and the parent will be charged. The signee acknowledged responsibility for costs of damages or replacement of the device via the agreement signed upon receiving the device.
Possible charges:
  • Chromebook or tablet replacement: $200.00
  • Chromebook charger replacement: $50.00
  • Cracked display screen: $50.00
  • Tablet Charger replacement: $20.00 if not turned in or if not working properly
  • If you were issued a hotspot, please return it: $50 if not returned

Damaged devices will be reviewed by the Technology Department. Parents will be notified if charges are necessary. The Technology Department will remotely disable any device not turned in by the deadline and a letter requesting the full replacement value will be sent.

If your student is registered for on campus learning, the teacher will collect the device in that designated course. Students who are learning virtually will follow the schedule below to reduce the number of visitors at or in our building at one time. The return process will be May 24-27th.

A separate return time will be scheduled for those who are dealing with COVID-19 issues. If the bullet points below apply to anyone who will be attending the Technology Device return, please contact your home campus office:
  • Anyone that has been diagnosed with COVID-19 who is not fully recovered.
  • Anyone currently self-quarantined or who lives in the same household as someone self quarantined for COVID-19.
  • Anyone currently exhibiting any known symptoms associated with COVID-19.
  • Anyone that has been in direct contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected of having COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
  • Anyone that has traveled internationally within the past 14 days.
