Lloyd Marie Johnson has been a Port Arthur ISD Board Trustee for more than 10 years. During that decade, she has served as board president three times and twice as vice president and secretary. The life-long Port Arthur resident is also active with the Parent-Teacher Student Association and Band Boosters. She has held the office of president and secretary with both organizations and has twice been vice president of the PTSA. Trustee Johnson has also volunteered in the classroom as a Biology teacher assistant.
Trustee Johnson studied Nursing at Lamar University and Physical Therapy at Houston Community College and Texas Woman’s University. She has spent the last 25 years working in acute hospital and rehabilitation settings, outpatient facilities and home healthcare. She is currently an independent contractor for home health physical therapy.
Trustee Johnson and her husband, Farrell Johnson Jr., are the parents of two adult children, Dorian and Dominique. She has held several city committee positions, including City Beautification, Adopt A Highway and the City Charter Committee and is a devoted member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Top Ladies of Distinction, the National Coalition of Negro Women, the American Physical Therapy Association and Texas Physical Therapy Association.
