Debra Ambroise is immediate past president of the Port Arthur ISD Board and is serving her second term as a trustee. The 1979 Abraham Lincoln High School (Port Arthur) graduate has also held the positions of secretary and vice president of the board and is also active with the Council of Urban Boards of Education. In June 2019, Trustee Ambroise earned the distinction of Master Trustee, following her participation in a yearlong educational leadership program of the Texas Association of School Boards. The recognition is the highest designation of TASB.
Trustee Ambroise’s commitment to the PAISD spans more than three decades. She has volunteered in various capacities, including membership in the Parent Teacher Association (president and parliamentarian) and supporter of Project Graduation (chairperson, Class of 2005 and 2016).
Mrs. Ambroise is a retired Transit Planner for the City of Port Arthur. She is the wife of Clonie Ambroise Jr. and the mother of Ellington and Clonie Ambroise III. Her sons are PAISD graduates. She says she is grateful for this opportunity to serve the educators, administrators, bus drivers, maintenance workers, custodial staff and most importantly, the children of Port Arthur.
