MHS Marching Heat on KBTV

This Saturday, Memorial High School will host the 5th annual Battle of the Bands. The event will take place at Memorial Stadium, located at 2200 Jefferson Drive, in Port Arthur, at 4:00pm. Tickets are available at Presale tickets are on sale for ten dollars, and tickets at the gate will be fifteen dollars. Admission is free for children 6 and under.

Power Outage at Tyrrell Elem

The older section of the campus lost power this morning. The staff immediately sprung to action and ushered students to the newer section of the building where there is power. Our teachers have continued to teach and our students have been served both breakfast and lunch. Our electricians have been working with Entergy to rectify this issue. Our students are safe and comfortable, however, the phones are down due to the electrical issue. Students will be released at the regular dismissal time of 3:25 p.m.

Local Trustee Participates in Leadership Program

Debra Ambroise, trustee from Port Arthur ISD joined 33 other school board members from across Texas November 15-17 in Amarillo for the second session of the Leadership TASB class of 2019. Selected by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), the group is participating in a yearlong education leadership study program.
