On Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 Thomas Jefferson Middle School will be administering the Readistep exam to 8th graders. Readistep is a test that measures reading, writing, and math skills that students learn in school. Your child does not need to do any special preparation for Readistep. Each year Duke University conducts a Talent Identification Program (TIP) for academically talented students in grades 4 through 12. The program provides academic enrichment opportunities for gifted children. The TIP programs include a talent recognition program for 4th, 5th, and 7th-grade students, two summer enrichment programs for students in grades 7 to 10, scholar weekends for students in grades 8 to 11, an e-studies program for students in grades 8 to 12 and online courses for students in grades 4 to 12.
