Green Trash to Treasure Program

The Port Arthur City Council PTA is looking for a way to raise funds and help protect the environment at the same time. The Port Arthur City Council PTA does not do any fund raisers that will conflict with the local PTAs, because we support them in their endeavors. We are apart of the “Green Trash to Treasure Program.” We are asking local business partners and supporters to donate “unwanted” cell phones, ink and toner cartridges, desk top, lap top computers ipods and ipads.

We would like to set a collection box at your office or place of business. You would call us when the box is full. We are committed to keeping e-waste out of our landfills. Please help us turn toxic e-waste trash into much needed treasure.

Memorial High School Counselor, Carmen Hudson and Dr. Ella Williams, scholarship committee chair are accepting completed applications from MHS-PTSA Seniors (parents must also be a member of the MHS-PTSA). The deadline to submit your application is Apr. 25, 2012 by 4:00 p.m. Applications can also be mailed to MHS-PTSA Scholarship, P. O. Box 964, Port Arthur, TX  77641.

PTSA Scholarship Opportunity

Memorial PTSA Scholarship applications can be picked up from Mrs. Carmen Hudson at Memorial in Room D126 starting Friday, March 4^th. You may contact the PTSA president, Dr. Ella Williams for an application at the External Funding Building (next to Administration Building), you may download the application Here. 2010-2011 Texas PTA Reflections Programs

Students across Texas created nearly 70,000 entries for the 2010-2011 Reflections Program. Of the 1900 pieces that advanced to the Texas PTA (state level), Port Arthur ISD students were in “the mix”.
