From the Desk of the Principal

 

     If our children were all perfect, and they did not make any mistakes, we would not need the special guidance from the district’s alternative school. Adults make mistakes on a daily basis, and they need special help with such things as relationships, families and credit.

 

     The alternative center has been established to provide the extra help that our children need when they make serious errors in judgement. Students stay at our facility  from a period of thirty (30) to forty-five (45) days depending on the seriousness of the breach of the student code of conduct.

 

     While assigned to the campus the students are expected to keep up with their regular classroom work while they are provided with increased supervision of all activities. In addition, the students are exposed to counseling programs provided by staff counselors, social workers, and outside agencies.

 

     The desired goal is to have a well rounded child return to the home campus ready to resume all the duties of a student that had not ever been separated from the home campus.
