Board Goals
1. Improve student achievement.
2. Improve District image through better communication with all stakeholders.
3. Improve safe schools; ensure environment is conducive to learning and schools are
orderly.
Superintendent’s Goals
1. To build positive perceptions, relationships and collaboration among community and staff.
2. To improve student achievement for all students.
3. To improve organizational and operational effectiveness to better support student-
teacher relationships.
4. To provide positive and safe learning environments and facilities.
5. To strengthen fiscal stability.
Board Priorities for District
1. Ensure that every child is performing on or above grade level; align curriculum.
2. Increase/incorporate co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as part of the
curriculum.
3. Develop a comprehensive fine arts program inclusive of all disciplines (i.e., music, art,
drama, etc.).
4. Provide cultural opportunities to all children in the curriculum (i.e., field trips).
Enrichment of students through partnering with community/business organizations,
students. Show self-respect and pride in PAISD. Focus on student pride through the
support of business.
5. Ensure safe school environment, including strong dress standards for students.
6. Develop a framework for growth and development for professional staff and ensure
monitoring of students and staff.
7. Provide adequate funding for upgrade and maintenance of facilities.
The Board of Trustees Approved the Current Board’s and Superintendent’s Goals on 9-25-07.
Alignment of Superintendent’s and DPC Goals
1. To build positive perceptions, relationships and collaboration among community and staff.
2. To improve student achievement for all students.
DPC Goal: By May 2009, all students in each population taking the TAKS and/or
alternative assessments in Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science
will meet the district goal of 80% (Minimum district expectations).
DPC Goal: Improve student attendance to meet or exceed the district goal of 96%.
DPC Goal: Integrate technology into TEKS curriculum and instruction.
DPC Goal: Strengthen our recruitment and teacher retention strategies.
3. To improve organizational and operational effectiveness to better support student-
teacher relationships.
4. To provide positive and safe learning environments and facilities.
DPC Goal: Create a positive, safe, orderly, disciplined and drug-free school
climate by May 2009.
DPC Goal: Strengthen parental and community involvement.
DPC Goal: Strengthen staff morale.
5. To strengthen fiscal stability.
