District Awards for Teacher Excellence (D.A.T.E.) Grant Legislative Changes for 2009-2010

Cycle 1, Year 2

 

  1. Principals are now eligible for direct awards under Part I (60% of grant)

  2. Districts no longer have to provide a 15% cash or in-kind match

  3. Part 2 funds may be used to provide incentives to attract & retain principals and teachers with proven records of success at hard-to-staff schools

  4. Awards may not be given to teachers for having advanced degrees

  5. School boards do not have to approve local plans
