             PAISD has been recommended for AdvancED district-wide accreditation by the Quality Assurance Review Team.

Commendations:

            1. There is strong support from the community for the district and its efforts for improving teaching and learning.

            2. Port Arthur Independent School District (PAISD) has developed and implemented reform strategies such as EXCEL to improve the learning of  students.

            3. The district leadership team is strong and effective. 

Recommendations:

            1. Evaluate the efficacy of each initiative described in PAISD EXCEL program to assure measurable improvement in teaching and learning is balanced with the effort, input, and support needed to      

                sustain the improvement.

            2. Focus on recruiting efforts to assure quality certified applicants are available to fill anticipated positions.
