The Port Arthur Independent School District Leadership Academy began in 2007, under the leadership of Dr. Johnny E. Brown, Superintendent of Schools.
What is the purpose of the Leadership Academy?
To grow knowledgeable, effective, and technological proficient instructional school leaders to serve within the PAISD
Who may apply?
Teachers and administrators currently employed by PAISD
How many participants will be selected?
The fifth (V) Cohort of the PAISD Leadership Academy will include up to 20 candidates
When will the Leadership Academy Begin and end?
The PAISD Leadership Academy will meet from 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.
All meetings are held at the PAISD Administration Bldg

What will participants selected do?
Participants selected will be required to do the following:
A. Conduct Book Studies
B. Engage in District Problem Solving & Support of School Reform for Direct Positive Impact Upon Student Learning and School Experiences (i.e., Capstone Projects and Student Intervention Initiatives)
C. Participate in Leadership Development and Off-Site Group Meetings
D. Create a Group Portfolio of Documented Leadership Academy Learning Experiences as Part of the Assigned Group Project and Presentation
E. Share knowledge of best practices in using technology to improve student learning
