6^th Grade Student Special Transfer Option Application

for the 2008-2009 School Year

 

 

1. The Special Transfer Applications are currently available for all 5^th grade students at the schools in which they are currently attending, with the exception of Dowling Elem. students, who are already a part of the Austin Feeder Pattern.

 

2. Parents must complete and submit the transfer application to their children’s current home school by May 1, 2008,  at 4 p.m.

 

3. All applications will be compiled, reviewed, and decided upon by the office of the Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and School Leadership.

 

4. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction will review applications and approve up to 150 students to be selected for the Special Transfer Option to Austin Middle School for incoming 6^th Grade students. The Department of Curriculum and Instruction may utilize the following to make transfer decisions: student grades, student achievement data, student attendance, student discipline records and or other special academic reasons.

 

5. Parents of students selected and parents of students not selected will be notified via mail the week of May 26, 2008.
